Do women and girls need permission to play football?
Share
Nope, just a ball and a pitch.
I created PPW because football has always been more than a game to me. From grassroots muddy pitches to playing at semi-pro level, I’ve lived the highs and the struggles of being a woman in a sport that wasn’t always ready for us.
Our slogans aren’t just words on fabric. They’re the roar of a lioness — powerful, unshakable, and impossible to silence. They stand for defiance, belonging, and pride, and they remind every girl and woman that the pitch is hers.
The slogan ‘FOOTBALL UNITES’ is the core of our ethos because that’s exactly what it does, on the pitch language isn’t a barrier, backgrounds are irrelevant as the sport unites us all.
‘Kick like a girl’ has been used negatively in playgrounds and on training fields for too long, it’s time to flip that narrative and bring the words ‘Proud to’ to the front of it
What do I hope to inspire?
Courage in the next generation of girls told football isn’t “for them”
Conversations that spark change every time these words are worn
A movement that proves women’s place in football is not up for debate
Because a lioness doesn’t ask for space — she claims it. And that’s exactly what I want for every girl and woman who pulls on her boots.
If I could change one thing in football, it would be this: that no girl ever doubts her place on the pitch, from playgrounds to world stages. That every woman knows she belongs, not because she’s allowed to, but because she always has.
Proud Pitch Wear is about every girl who was told she couldn’t. Every woman who had to fight harder. Every lioness who roared when the world tried to silence her.
We’re not just wearing football tops,
We’re wearing a movement and uniting our ROAR.
